Reference: Sahih Bukhari 1549, Sahih Muslim 1184
📚 Fiqh Notes
  • Ihram timing: Those coming from outside Makkah enter Ihram at Miqat. Makkah residents can enter Ihram from their homes.
  • Prayer timing: Prayers are shortened (Qasr) but not combined on this day.
  • Accommodation: Stay in tents in Mina. Modern facilities available but simple accommodation is Sunnah.
  • Preparation: Use this day for spiritual preparation and rest before the intensive Day of Arafah.
💡 Important: The Day of Tarwiyah is named so because pilgrims used to carry water (Tarwiyah means “to quench thirst”) for the coming days. Today, water is readily available, but the spiritual preparation remains essential.

Seeking Forgiveness

📚 Fiqh Notes
  • Timing: Must be present at Arafah between Dhuhr and Maghrib. Even a moment counts, but staying until sunset is essential.
  • Location: Anywhere within the boundaries of Arafah is valid. Mount Arafah (Jabal Rahmah) is not required.
  • Prayer: Dhuhr and Asr are prayed combined and shortened at the time of Dhuhr.
  • Departure: Must leave after Maghrib, not before. Leaving early invalidates this pillar.
🌟 Spiritual Significance: This is the day when Allah boasts to the angels about His servants. It’s said that more people are freed from Hell on this day than any other. Make the most of every moment in dua and dhikr.
