What Is Noorani Qaida?

Noorani Qaida is the foundational textbook used in Madrasas and Maktabs across India and the Muslim world to teach beginners how to read the Holy Quran. It was authored by Maulana Noor Muhammad Haqqani and has been the standard first step in Quranic education for over a century.

The Qaida teaches Arabic letter recognition (Huroof-e-Tahajji), letter shapes in different positions, joining rules (Mushkil Huroof), Harakat (Fathah, Kasrah, Dammah), Tanween, Tashdeed, Sukoon, Madd letters, and the basic rules needed to start reading the Quran correctly. At IqraExpert.in, our Ustads teach Noorani Qaida through live one-on-one online sessions — giving your child the same quality Taaleem as a traditional Maktab, but from the comfort of home.

Who Should Take This Course?

The IqraExpert.in Noorani Qaida course is designed for anyone who cannot yet read the Holy Quran — regardless of age.

What You Will Learn in This Course

The IqraExpert.in Noorani Qaida syllabus covers every chapter of the traditional Qaida, taught step by step with live correction from a certified Ustad.

Chapter-by-Chapter Breakdown

  1. Huroof-e-Mufradaat (Individual Letters) — Learn all 29 Arabic letters with their names, shapes, and correct pronunciation from the Makharij (articulation points).
  2. Huroof-e-Murakkabaat (Compound Letters) — Learn how letters join in the beginning, middle, and end positions within a word.
  3. Harakat (Short Vowels) — Fathah (Zabar), Kasrah (Zer), Dammah (Pesh) — the three basic vowel marks that make letters sound different.
  4. Tanween (Double Vowels) — Fathatain, Kasratain, Dammatain — the nasal “n” sounds at the end of words.
  5. Sukoon & Jazm — How to stop on a letter without a vowel. Essential for reading Quran correctly.
  6. Tashdeed (Shaddah) — Doubling a letter’s sound. One of the most common mistakes beginners make — our Ustads correct this early.
  7. Madd Letters (Elongation) — Alif Madd, Waw Madd, Ya Madd — stretching vowel sounds for the correct duration.
  8. Leen Letters — Waw Sakinah and Ya Sakinah before Sukoon — soft pronunciation rules.
  9. Noon Sakinah & Tanween Rules (Introduction) — A gentle introduction to Izhar, Ikhfa, Idgham, and Iqlab — preparing students for Tajweed Rules.
  10. Practice Exercises — Reading exercises combining all rules learned, building fluency before moving to actual Quran reading.

Each lesson is repeated until the student can read it perfectly. We do not rush — Sabr (patience) is our teaching philosophy.

Digital Qaida on Screen
