You Said Shahadah —
Or Wished You Knew Where to Begin.
This Is Where We Start.
A complete 6-month foundation course for new Muslims, recent reverts, and adults who never had the chance to learn the basics. Live one-on-one classes on Zoom or Google Meet with a patient, non-judgmental Ustad or Alima. No question is too basic. No starting point is too late. We will not assume you know anything — and we will not make you feel small for asking.
“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching.”
Allah did not command us to lecture, judge, or shame. He commanded us to invite — with hikmah (wisdom) and maw’idhah hasanah (beautiful, gentle teaching). This ayah is the entire orientation of our New Muslim Starter Course. Whoever you are, whatever you don’t yet know — you are welcome here.
If You’re Reading This, You Already Took the Hardest Step
Most people never reach the page about how to start learning. You did. That decision matters more than you realise. Whatever brought you here — recent Shahadah, a return after years away, parents who never taught you, or just a quiet feeling that something is missing — there is no rank list. There is only the next step.
“I feel embarrassed asking basic questions”
Asking what Wudu is, how Salah works, or what Surah Al-Fatiha means is not embarrassing. The Sahaba (RA) asked those exact questions to the Prophet ﷺ. Your Ustad has answered them thousands of times — without ever judging the asker.
“Everyone else seems to know more than me”
Most Muslims you meet started learning as children — they had years of background. You’re comparing month one for you to year 20 for them. Insha’Allah, in 6 months you’ll know more than most people who grew up Muslim know about why they pray.
“I don’t know any Arabic at all”
You don’t need to. The course is taught in clear English. You’ll learn the Arabic you need for Salah and short Surahs as you go — phrase by phrase, slowly, with proper pronunciation guidance. Nothing is rushed.
“I don’t know what I don’t know”
That’s exactly what the first class is for. Your Ustad asks gentle questions, listens, and builds your starting plan around where you actually are — not where someone with a religious upbringing would be. No assumptions. No pretending.
The Five Pillars of Islam — What You Will Actually Understand
Most beginner courses give you a list of names. Ours teaches each pillar so you actually understand it, can do it, and know why it matters. By month 3, you’ll be praying all five daily Salahs with confidence.
Your 6-Month Roadmap — Month by Month
This is the actual curriculum your Ustad will follow with you. The pace adjusts to you — some students move faster, some slower. Nobody is rushed, nobody is skipped.
Shahadah, Iman & Tawhid
What does the Shahadah actually mean? Who is Allah? Who is the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ? The 6 Articles of Iman. The Oneness of Allah (Tawhid). Why these are the foundation everything else rests on. By end of month 1, you understand what you affirmed when you said the Shahadah.
Purification & the Five Prayers
Wudu (ablution) step by step — what to wash, in what order, what breaks it. The five daily Salah times. The physical movements (Qiyam, Ruku, Sujud, Jalsah). The words to say in each position, in Arabic with English meaning. By end of month 2, you can pray Fajr correctly on your own.
Surah Al-Fatiha + 4 Short Surahs
Learn to recite Surah Al-Fatiha (the opening of every Salah) with correct pronunciation and full meaning. Plus four short Surahs commonly used in prayer: Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas, Al-Kawthar. Phrase by phrase, with English meaning of every word. By end of month 3, you pray all 5 Salahs with full Surahs.
Fasting, Zakat & Hajj — Foundations
What Sawm (fasting) means and how Ramadan works. Zakat — who pays, when, and on what. Hajj — what happens, who must perform it, what to expect. Foundational knowledge of the remaining three pillars without overwhelming detail. By end of month 4, you understand the full Five Pillars.
Halal, Haram & Daily Adhkar
What is Halal and Haram in food, work, relationships, and money — practical, not theoretical. Daily Adhkar (morning, evening, before sleep). Adab (Islamic manners) for greetings, family, neighbours, and strangers. Common Duas every Muslim says. By end of month 5, Islam is woven into your daily routine.
Seerah Essentials & Your Path Forward
An overview of the life of the Prophet ﷺ — Mecca, the Hijra, Medina, the major events that shaped Islam. Understanding why we love him as Muslims do. Your personalised next-step plan: Quran reading (Noorani Qaida), deeper Tajweed, full Islamic Studies, or Hifz. You graduate from beginner — and the rest of your life with Islam begins.
What You Will Have By the End of 6 Months
All 5 Daily Salahs — Confidently
Wudu, prayer movements, Surahs, supplications. You will pray Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha on time, alone or in congregation, with confidence — not anxiety.
Surah Al-Fatiha + 4 Short Surahs
Memorised with correct Tajweed and full English meaning. You will know what you are saying when you stand in prayer — not just sounding out unfamiliar Arabic words.
Daily Adhkar & Duas
Morning Adhkar, evening Adhkar, Duas before meals, before sleep, after Salah. Insha’Allah, your day will be wrapped in remembrance of Allah from waking to sleeping.
A Real Understanding of Islam
Not just “Muslims do this and that.” You will understand why — Tawhid, the Pillars, the Articles of Iman. You will be able to answer family or friends who ask you what Islam actually teaches.
Halal & Haram in Daily Life
Practical knowledge of what to eat, how to earn, how to interact, how to dress. Not a list of rules — a framework you can apply to new situations as they come up.
A Clear Path Forward
You will know what to learn next — and we will help you get there. Whether that is Quran reading, deeper Tajweed, full Islamic Studies, or Hifz — your Ustad will recommend the right next course based on what you most want.
We will not assume you know anything. We will not make you feel small. We will not rush you. You will be taught the way the Sahaba were taught — with patience, with respect, and with a teacher who is on your side. If something is not clicking, we slow down. If something is clicking fast, we move forward. Your pace, your starting point, your dignity — all yours.
